In the last twelve months two new members of staff have joined the Operations team of MetWorks Limited. They are:

Captain Edward (Eddie) J O'Sullivan:
After a conventional career as navigating officer in the Merchant Navy, serving in companies such as Elders & Fyffes, Whitco Marine Services/Salen UK Ltd, Eddie obtained his UK Master Mariner's (Class 1) Certificate in 1978, revalidated in 2003. He progressed to Master of reefer vessels and Marine Superintendent, and subsequently owner of his own dry cargo vessel.

Captain O'Sullivan joined the UK Met Office as a ship routeing officer in January 1988, and during his time with that organisation, he was also engaged in duties such as Port Met Officer in Hull, Deputy Marine Superintendent and finally Manager of the Marine Observations Section until January 2004 at which time he joined the staff of MetWorks Limited.

Eddie brings to MetWorks a wealth of experience in many types of vessels trading in all areas of the world.

Captain Brian J Stewart:

On leaving school in 1980 Brian attained a cadetship with British & Commonwealth and served with Clan Line, King Line, Scottish Tankers and Universal Reefers as well as undertaking a training exchange with the RFA whilst serving in the Falkland Islands.

In 1984 he joined Neptune Shipping Ltd (later London Ship Management) and in 1994 Ecuadorian Line, attaining command in early 1995 while sailing on their fleet of modern reefer container vessels trading on liner services to the East Coast of the United States and latterly on trans-Atlantic services.

After almost 10 years in command during which time he was actively involved and consulted regarding weather routeing services being deployed on board fleet ships as well as being similarly active in both the set up and introduction of the company's ISM and ISPS codes; Captain Stewart joined MetWorks in December 2004, bringing to the company his recent knowledge of modern shipping practices.
